For Wednesday

Drink Up and Talk Politics

Meet up with old and new left-leaning pals to talk about politics at Burien's monthly Drinking Liberally meeting. This event is open to all —no expertise required. (Ha. I imagine there's a good joke in there for Republicans.)

Drinking Liberally, Wed, November 27, 7pm, Mick Kelly's Irish Pub (in the back room), 435 SW 152nd St, Burien.

For Tuesday

Trouble in Toyland

Following its 28th annual toy report (see last year's report),  the consumer advocates at WashPIRG will present their findings about toxic and other potentially hazardous toys on the market this year.

Make sure to take good notes before buying holiday gifts for the little ones in your family.

Trouble in Toyland presentation, Tues, November 26, 10am, Pike Market Child Care and Preschool, Pike Place No. 222, free.

For Monday

Can't we all be friends?

How can cars and bikers commute in harmony? Barbara McCann, a founder of the street planning group National Complete Streets Coalition, will share ideas about developing "complete streets"—that is, where people of all abilities and all modes of transportation can coexist safely—and what strategies Seattle could implement.

An impressive bunch will be joining her in the discussion: Washington state secretary of transportation Lynn Peterson, Futurewise director Hilary Franz, and Transportation for America communications director David Goldberg.

The Path to Safe Streets, Mon, November 25, 7:30–9:30pm, Town Hall Seattle, $5.
