For Friday

Road-sharing Safety

Learn how bicyclists and trucks can share the road to avoid collisions like the one that took place in Seattle last May.

The morning info-session will clue bikers in about truck blind spots and offer other safety tips with simulations and truck ride-alongs.

Road-sharing For Bikes and Trucks, Fri, September 6, 6:30-8:30am, Terminal 25, 3225 East Marginal Way, free.

For Thursday

Cascade Bike PAC Fundraiser

The Cascade Bike PAC is having a party, and you’re invited. Munch on hors d’oeuvres while you chatter with others about bike trails and other transportation issues at their annual fundraiser. Rep. Hans Dunshee (D-WA) from the 44th legislative district will make a special visit.

Cascade Bike PAC Fundraiser Party, Thurs, September 5, 5:30-7:30pm, ZGF Architects, 925 4th Avenue # 2400.

Renewing Yesler’s Promise

The reconstruction project for Yesler Terrace begins this Thursday. Witness its groundbreaking as you enjoy some light refreshments.

Renewing Yesler’s Promise, Thurs, September 5, 1105 East Fir St, Seattle, free.

Protest Gov. Walker

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) is coming to Seattle to speak at a fundraiser for the American Legislative Exchange Council (a conservative national think tank that promotes a right-wing agenda in state legislatures across the nation). Join labor union activists to protest his arrival, for passing legislation in 2011 limiting collective bargaining rights for state employees.

Protest Gov. Walker in Seattle, Thurs, September 5, 5-7pm, Seattle Sheraton Hotel, 1400 6th Ave.

Alley Input

Help Pioneer Square with its community-driven alley designs, a project aiming to add activity and character to the city's historic downtown alleyways. Refreshments, music, and art will be provided.

Alley Inspirations, Thurs, September 5, 5-7pm, Nord Alley, Pioneer Square, free.

For Wednesday

Summer Concerts Continue

Take advantage of the final month of free outdoor summer concerts every Wednesday and Friday. This Wednesday will feature alternative, country, and punk music by Baskery, a trio of Swedish sisters.

Out To Lunch Concert Series, Wed, September 4, noon-1:30pm, Waterfront Park, Seattle, free.
