Family Time at the Park

Spend some quality family time at Jimi Hendrix Park this weekend at the 41st Annual ROOTS Family Picnic, dedicated to strengthening family and community ties.

The Breakfast Group, an organization of African American males who mentor young low-income males, is partnering up with the Northwest Black Pioneers, ROOTS Committee, Northwest African American Museum, and Seattle Parks and Recreation Department to hold this event. 

Activities will include mini museum tours, face painting, field games, and live music from local musicians.

Nighttime at the Arboretum

Join the UW Botanic Gardens' environmental education team as they take you through the Arboretum—in the darkness and quiet of night—to learn about nocturnal wildlife.

For Friday

Stone Soup Theatre Performance

Star Trek fans out there will enjoy this Stone Soup youth performance of "Cyborg Saga: Alien Encounter," a production from the local theatre's youth summer camp.
