For Thursday

Outdoor Concert

Why not enjoy some live music during your lunch break? La Luz, a retro, female-fronted band from Seattle, will perform their '60s-inspired surf rock at this week's "Seattle Presents" concert at City Hall Plaza.

Seattle Presents: La Luz, Thurs, August 29, noon–1:30pm, City Hall Plaza, 600 4th Ave, free.

For Wednesday

Free Breakfast for Bicyclists

Cascade Bicycle Club is offering an incentive for you to get in the saddle on your way to work this month: Free doughnuts! This morning, they'll be out on the Jose Rizal Bridge on Beacon Hill, handing doughnuts to bike commuters as part of its end-of-summer event, Breakfast on the Bridges.

Breakfast on the Bridge, Wed, August 28, 6:30am–8:30am, Jose Rizal Bridge, free.

For Tuesday

Demand Paid Sick Leave

Currently, two out of every five workers in Tacoma do not receive paid sick leave. Let Tacoma’s city officials know that you support a city ordinance requiring paid sick days for all.

Party for Paid Sick Days, Tues, August 27, 6:30–8pm, 2502 Sixth Ave, Tacoma, free.

Ask the Mayor

Have a question you're itching to ask Mayor Mike McGinn? Call, email, or tweet the Seattle Channel and watch for Mayor McGinn's responses on this live monthly show. Let's just hope it isn't canceled this time.

Ask the Mayor, Tues, August 27, 7pm, Seattle Channel 21.
