Community BBQ

Interbay P-Patch, one of Seattle's largest and oldest P-Patch community gardens, will be holding their yearly fundraiser barbeque this weekend. The meal includes grilled salmon, a selection of side dishes, desserts, and refreshments. The cost is $25 per person, but children under the age of 12 can attend for free. Cooking at Pike Place

"From Farmers to Families and Friends" hosts free cooking classes each Friday, taught by local cooking instructor and store owner Diane LaVonne. Open to those with all levels of cooking experience, these classes aim to "demystify" cooking from scratch with fresh local produce.

Classes last 45 minutes and are limited to 25 participants per class. This 10-week series runs through September 20.

Wage Theft Protest

Good Jobs Seattle, an organization that combats wage theft crime, is holding a demonstration to protest wage theft by fast food chains. Fast food restaurants, the group claims, steal up to $100,000 per week from their workers in Seattle alone. Wage theft crimes include unpaid overtime, unpaid breaks, and sub-minimum wages.

Free Museum Thursday

Several museums around the city, including the Museum of Flight, the Burke Museum, the Seattle Art Museum, and the Volunteer Park Conservatory, will offer free admission this Thursday.

Alleypalooza

Explore the city's historic downtown alleys, from Nord Alley in Pioneer Square to Post Alley near the downtown waterfront, with a series of free First Thursday block parties featuring music, art, dance performances, and more.
