The Latest Numbers: Mallahan in the Lead
Mallahan up more than a point, McGinn down a bit, Nickels up (infinitesimally).
As Jimbo in the comments notes, Mallahan grabbed the lion's share of the votes that were counted today: 30.87 percent, compared to 26.06 percent for McGinn and 25.76 for Nickels. That seems like bad news for Nickels, great news for Mallahan, and neutral news for McGinn, based on their results last night. More soon.
Joe Mallahan is the only mayoral candidate to benefit notably from this afternoon's latest numbers drop,r ising from 25.77 percent of the vote to 26.76 of the vote, putting him in the lead. Mike McGinn is down ever so slightly, from 26.58 percent to 26.48 perecnt, and Mayor Greg Nickels is up slightly, from 25.06 percent to 25.19 percent.
City Council Position 4 candidate Sally Bagshaw is now up above 50 percent in her race against David Bloom for the open seat being vacated by Jan Drago, with 51.12 percent to Bloom's 18.27 percent.
In Position 6, Nick Licata edged up slightly from his previous total of 52.82 percent to end the day at 53.59 percent; his opponent Jessie Israel went from 29.99 percent to 30.11 percent.
