Hello Solo

By FilmNerd April 24, 2009

As of yesterday, the Northwest Film Forum still had a few more spots for Tuesday's workshop with director Ramin Bahrani, who is bringing his third film, Goodbye Solo, to Seattle.

Titled Filming the Immigrant's Story:  A Discussion with Ramin Bahrani, the exclusive workshop initially sold out weeks ago (just 12 spots), but the hot director—Goodbye Solo was recently flagged by A.O. Scott in the NYT Magazine as the head-of-the-class for a new American film movement—agreed to take more people. Attendees may bring samples of their work and their ideas, to discuss and learn how Bahrani approaches filmmaking.

This is a fantastic opportunity for Seattle's growing community of filmmakers and cinephiles.  The workshop runs from 6-9pm on Tuesday, April 28, at Northwest Film Forum.  $20 general/$15 for members.

Goodbye Solo will screen the next night in a one-night-only engagement with Bahrani in attendance.  Wednesday, April 29, at 7pm.
