Drago Update
The Seattle Times is reporting
that City Council Member Jan Drago will finally make her run for mayor official on Tuesday outside the Seattle Art Museum.
Update: And Drago's consultant Blair Butterworth tells PubliCola that indeed, Drago will "have an announcement" at 12:30 on Tuesday afternoon outside SAM.
The question that's dogging Drago among political insiders (know-it-alls) and journalists is this: How does Drago, who has largely been in lockstep with Nickels' signature issues—the tunnel, South Lake Union redevelopment, Northgate redevelopment, alcohol impact areas, the downtown heights rezone, stricter club rules, the streetcar, and lifting the U. District lease lid—differentiate herself from Nickels?
Given Nickels' dreadful poll numbers, however, the answer—for the general pubic—might be simple enough: She's not Greg Nickels.
