Digital Editor

Seattle Met is looking for a Digital Editor to join its team of talented writers and editors. The Digital Editor is responsible for making sure editorial content is optimized for the web, social media, and newsletters. The ideal candidate has knowledge of SEO and email marketing best practices. They also love digging into and analyzing dataare exceptionally detail-oriented, and understand the Seattle Met brand and voice. 

Responsibilities
  • Perform SEO quality control on editors’ stories before publishing stories online  
  • Curate, write, and schedule daily newsletters 
  • Write and schedule social media posts on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram 
  • Create original content for social media, such as IG stories and TikTok 
  • Monitor social media channels, responding to and interacting with readers in a respectful and appropriate way 
  • Pull and analyze data from Google Analytics into weekly and monthly web reports  
  • Collaborate with the editorial and analytics teams to identify new opportunities and generate story ideas, both for immediate execution and long-term planning 
  • Other editorial duties as needed  
Qualifications
  • 2 years of experience in digital editorial content, email marketing, and/or social media content management in a fast-paced publishing environment 
  • Knowledge of SEO, keyword research, and basic coding (to navigate in a CMS) 
  • Experience using Google Analytics, Google Trends, and Google Data Studio 
  • Experience using email marketing platforms and social media management tools
  • Experience using project management tool such as Wrike, a plus 
  • Deadline oriented 
  • Independent and self-motivated
Compensation

Depends on experience. This position is full-time with benefits, including medical, vision, dental, 401K retirement with company match, paid vacation, volunteer days, and paid parental leave.
