#HandsUpCantBreathe March
Following the death's of both Michael Brown and Eric Garner at the hands of police officers—and the subsequent failure to indict either of the officers in question—citizens have taken to the streets across the nation to protest police brutality and systemic racism.
The marches continue this Saturday, with the rallying mantra (and helpful hashtag) #HandsUpCantBreathe. Organizers are committed to make this a peaceful demonstration, marching from the U District to Downtown Seattle in order to maintain public awareness of the injustice even as life seemingly moves on toward the holiday season.
#HandsUpCantBreathe March, Sat, Dec 13, 11am, UW Red Square, Free
