Description

Part of an upmarket chain from the folks who started the King and I in Bellevue. The original at the corner of Mercer and First Avenue North is romantically lit, with carved wood, pastel murals, and live bromeliads and orchids conveying a bit of Bangkok to rain-soaked Seattle. (Sister spots convey similar to rain-soaked Woodinville and rain-soaked Tukwila.) The open kitchen emits the clanks and sizzles of stir-frying, delivering on flavorful tried-and-trues like spring and summer rolls, coconut shrimp, and pad Thai. A fried catfish entree comes draped in a delicate Panang curry; royal duck curry is properly musky and tender, served with sweet lychee fruit and veggies. Service is quick and friendly, even when faced with Seattle Center’s pretheater and postgame droves on Fridays and Saturdays.
