Chris Daughtry, who famously didn’t hide his shock when he got the boot over some less-talented squawker, parlayed the publicity from American Idol into a quintuple-platinum debut with his anthem-ready band Daughtry. They’ll be here Friday, July 17 at 8pm at the Paramount Theatre.

And the gig’s on them.

Here’s the deal: The Samsung AT&T Summer Krush music tour features nine acts in nine different cities performing one-night-only concerts. (Last year, the series brought a still-hunky Gavin Rossdale our way.) Portions of Daughtry’s show will air that same night on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
