Foodie Geek Out!

Appetizers and the Future of Food at Palace Ballroom

Meet Diet For a Hot Planet author Anna Lappé on April 15.

By Jessica Voelker March 31, 2010

So, you or your parents probably have a copy of Frances Moore Lappé’s Diet for a Small Planet, the revolutionary hippie-eating tome that has had everything to do, since 1971, with the way we West Coasters think about food.

Not to mention how much we think about it.

Well Frances’ daughter, Anna Lappé, is also a foodie wonk and author. Her newly published Diet For a Hot Planet is a prescriptive book about how we can move to a more climate-kind food system. And on April 15, The Good Life Series (a Kim Ricketts Book Events/Warren Report collab) is bringing Lappé the Younger to the Palace Ballroom to meet you.

There will be appetizers and Theo chocolates, an onstage conversation between Lappé and Warren Etheridge, and plenty of interactive opportunities for you, the informed eaters of Seattle. It costs $35 and starts at 6:30pm. Buy your tickets here, then check out this video featuring food luminary Marion Nestle (all hail!) plus Anna and her famous, not to mention totally adorable, mommy.
