A&E News: SAM Furlough, Billy Collins Returns, Fleet Foxes on Tour

Fleet Foxes tour behind their new album Helplessness Blues this spring.
VISUAL ART Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Asian Art Museum, and the Olympic Sculpture Park Pavilion will be closed from January 31 through February 13 for a staff-wide furlough aimed to trim the 2011 budget. The museums will reopen on February 14.
BOOKS & TALKS Since so many people couldn’t make it to the Billy Collins talk at Benaroya in November—yes, 3 inches of snow will shut a city down—Seattle Arts and Lectures is bringing the laugh-loving former poet laureate back for a second show on May 22. Even better: November attendees can redeem their tickets for this performance. If you lost your ticket stub, email [email protected] for a replacement. Tickets are also on sale now.
CONCERTS Just announced: Fleet Foxes will play the Moore Theatre on May 3 (the day their new album drops); Yonder Mountain String Band is at Showbox at the Market on April 9; and Devo is safety dancing whips it at the Moore on March 15. Tickets go on sale this weekend at ticketmaster.com (Friday at 10am for YMSB) and stgpresents.org (Friday at 10am for FF and Saturday at 10am for Devo).
Psst. Sub Pop made the new Fleet Foxes single, "Helplessness Blues," available for download. Have a listen:
