If you want to see comedian and Forgetting Sarah Marshall star Russell Brand in his element, go to the Moore on Friday at 8. He’s at his best (and worst) when he has the freedom to run his mouth; that’s when you get intelligent improv, jokes about sex on horseback (see clip above), or outrageous one-off comments about pop stars needing a drug addiction to make music. (Brand, a former heroin addict, has gotten a lot of bad press for the mindless idiocy of that one.)
