Reasons to Love Seattle

It’s Official: Seattle Is the Zombie Capital of the World

Fremont’s zombie walk breaks Guinness World Record on Saturday.

Seattle hopes to reclaim the title "Zombie Capital of the World."

Saw this over on examiner.com and I just confirmed it with event organizers: Seattle has reclaimed the Guinness World Record for largest zombie walk, with 4,233 registered zombies (and an estimated 4,920 in attendance) shuffling down Phinney Avenue North in Fremont on Saturday. Sure, we originally hoped 10,000 people would come out …then revised estimates to 8,000…and yes, we ultimately squeaked out a win by 207 zombies (taking the title from England’s Big Chill Festival last August). Point is, we won. Long live the dead.

(Congrats to the Fremont Outdoor Movies crew for organizing this year’s Red, White and Dead Zombie Walk.)
