Pick Drop
The Kraken's Expansion Draft Was Fittingly Weird
Lots of tentacles.

Hello, hockey.

We finally have a hockey team, not just the idea of one.
Yesterday the Kraken selected 30 players in the NHL Expansion Draft in front of 4,000 fans at Gas Works Park and an untold number of boats sailgating on Lake Union. The made-for-TV event included guest picks from the likes of Seattle's GOAT, Marshawn Lynch, and an octopus named Licorice. Yes, an octopus. Seattle Aquarium was jazzed.

This was not the only tentacled wonder; a yachtopus also made an appearance. As for other oddities, there were many comments on Macklemore's hat that was probably not thrifted.
The more pertinent stuff: Seattle will debut at Climate Pledge Arena on October 23 against nascent rival Vancouver. And the team has some pretty slick jerseys.

Looking good.
