Who Loves You? Aldo Shoes [Updated]

Exclusive to readers of Wear What When: $100 in fashion footwear, and 5 great discounts, to boot.

By Laura Cassidy July 12, 2011

The subject line of the email was, “Aldo Loves Seattle.”

Oh yeah? Yeah, it would seem to be so; a rep from the shoe company, well known for affordable approximations of designer trends, told me they want to give one reader of this blog a $100 gift certificate redeemable at either their downtown location, the Bellevue Square one, or the Southcenter shop. Considering the Quebec-based company’s sometimes super-low prices—which are in direct opposition to their sky high spike heels and tall, tall wedges—the $100 win could get you not just one pair of shoes but two. Or boots. The fall collection is coming soon.

And even if you’re not the big winner you might still score. Five second-place winners will get a 30 percent off voucher, again, for use on anything at any of the three Seattle-area stores.

Blog-aholics are used to seeing the trend-riffing women’s styles (on Street Peeper, Fashion Toast, Honestly WTF and others), but keep in mind: it’s not just four-inch peep toes and strappy sandals at Aldo; they put out men’s styles, too. Step through the slideshow here for a few examples.

HERE’S HOW TO ENTER:

-Use the orange email the editor link to the right of these words to send an email entry (leave a comment if you’d like, but it won’t count as an entry).

-You must use the words Seattle Loves Seattle in the subject line.

-You must include your name, phone number, and email address in the email. That’s it. Your entry lines you up for the $100 grand slam; I’ll draw that name first and then select the second prizers from the same set of entries.

-Emails must be received by Friday July 15 at noon. Winners will be notified personally on Friday by 3p. If you don’t hear from me by then, I’m sorry but you didn’t win.

-While you’re at all of this: Consider signing up for our once-a-week newsletter, ShopTalk, so that you won’t ever miss exclusive giveaways, big and indie super-important sales, gotta-know retail news, and Seattle-related style esoterica.

FINE PRINT:

-You may only enter once. Multiple entrants will be disqualified. (UPDATED 7/12/11 at 11:11 a.m.)

-Winnings may only be claimed in-store; this was my idea, not Aldo’s. I feel strongly about shopping locally; shopping online is fun and easy, sure, but your neighbors and community members get commission and job security from dollars spent inside local stores. Only computers and some guy in an order processing warehouse in Indiana get job security when you shop online. Not that there is anything wrong with Ohio, or computers, but Seattle loves Seattle, right?

-Initially, I will alert you personally if you win; Aldo will then follow up to deliver the vouchers to you.

-The 30 percent discounts will expire on October 31, 2011.

-The $100 prize will not have an expiration date.
