Seattle's burger lovers are experiencing some deep-fried sadness this morning following an announcement from chef/owner Hajime Sato that Katsu Burger has officially closed its doors.
"We have been fortunate to employ some fantastic people, but not as many as needed to maintain a consistent quality of food and service. If we cannot guarantee you a great experience, the honorable thing to do is to step down," read an announcement on the Georgetown restaurant's Facebook page.
Katsu Burger had been open since 2011. Their panko-crusted burgers were served with Japanese-inflected toppings like tonkatsu sauce, wasabi, and miso (with names like Godzilla Attack and Ninja Deluxe, naturally), alongside green tea milkshakes and dorayaki.
Sayonara, Katsu Burger. You will be missed.
