IF THE GREAT CUISINES really were born of scarcity, the Great Recession may be responsible for a restaurant renaissance in Seattle. We’re not just referring to the slew of new places that opened in the last year. We’re talking about the emergence of whole new ways of dining—startlingly different ways of dining than existed 10, even five, years ago. We’ve identified the dozen most influential gastronomic drifts, probed their origins, then named the most exciting Seattle restaurants that epitomize them right this minute.

Thanks for reading!

Delancey is grossly overrated. Foodies and food bloggers get hard over it because of who its owners are, while the pizza is not top 5 in the city. Altho i will agree that those other pizza places you mentioned should not be included either, besides Serious pie

Gross oversight omitting Delancey while Serious Pie, Tutta Bella, and Veraci make the cut. You guys are aware of its existence, yes?

Otherwise, a lot of good recommendations here, including several I’m very much I’m looking forward to trying for myself in the near future.

Have you eaten the pizza at Delancey? Because my guess is, you haven’t.

Avoid Red Lobster: high prices, low quality food. I see that your list does not include this restaurant. GOOD!
