A Point About Poutine.

The Met Grill is bringing poutine to the menu, but it isn’t the first place to bring it to town.

By Jessica Voelker February 11, 2010

Just got this press release from the Metropolitan Grill: “Inspired by the 2010 Vancouver Olympics which kicks off tomorrow, The Met is bringing the national dish of Canada to Seattle. ‘Poutine’ combines crispy french fries with a veal demi glace and…cheese curds from local cheese producer, Beechers Handmade Cheese.”

Now, far be it from me to discourage poutine, a dish that I love very much, from proliferating in Seattle.

But in the name of fairness I must point out that Smith has been serving poutine with Beechers for about two years. It’s the first thing I ever ordered there, and I never looked back. Oh and the Steelhead Diner also serves poutine with—you guessed it—Beechers cheese curds.

I’m just saying. Go Apolo!
