If you read the 230-page Senate Intelligence report on the 4 CIA memos that have been released (here, here , here, here), you’ll notice it’s not all waterboarding, waterboarding, waterboarding, waterboarding. There are lots of techniques the military employed to get at that vital information we needed from the enemy. Here are the Top 7 overlooked torture techniques—some even include Washington state’s own cast of characters:
Now, call me cynical (and sarcastic)…but I can’t help but believe there is a direct correlation between the release of the torture memos last Thursday, the ensuing battle over the $80 million in the budget to close Guantanamo and the O-admin’s desire to drive home it’s case to close Guantanamo, despite growing criticism.
That said, I think Democrats are on their game. They are circling the wagons and are fairly synchronized on message. Check Hillary’s slam of Cheney (love you, Hils. Mean it!).
Sure, it wasn’t perfectly orchestrated (and if any of the O-staff worked for Senator Cantwell or Rep. Baird and they pulled this sloppy , flipflopping shit, their asses would have been shamed, humiliated then F.I.R.E.D!). Obama decides not to release the memos, then releases the memos. He doesn’t support prosecution, then is open to the idea. Then he turns it over to Holder (hey, thanks for that gift, man!) to make the decision on a possible independent investigation and to ultimately answer whether or not senior Bush officials who authorized and wrote said enhanced interrogation techniques should be prosecuted.
Whew. Mmmm, how’s that economy coming along?

- Fundraising for mayoral candidates James Donaldson and/or Mike McGinn. So painful! Pull my fingernails out instead!
- Watching the movie, The Soloist, from beginning to end.
- Teaching sex education with ultra-conservative State Senator Janea Holmquist to a bunch of gay pre-teens (Can you imagine unrolling a condom on a banana with that woman? Awkward! I confess already!)
- Jeans shopping for Congressman Dave Reichert.
- Holding the diaperbag for US Senator David Vitter.
- Representing Sarah Palin legally. Thankless and endless.
- Locking enemies of the US in a room with an unending video loop of CNN commentary from dipshits Pat Buchanan, Ruben Naverette Jr and Jack Cafferty.
