Cheap Eats: $2 Sausage

Through October, Fonté will bring you a two-buck brat when you buy a brew.

Fonte’s got $2 brats.

You gotta love the Bavarian Deli, that most charming little German sausage shop in Pike Place Market.

Through October, Fonté Cafe and Wine Bar will charge you just $2 for a bratwurst from Bavarian Deli when you buy a beer. I may not always love the service at Fonté, but I can always get behind the beers they serve, especially the Unibroue Maudite from Quebec.

Also currently on tap at Fonté: Leavenworth Oktoberfest.

It’s hard to believe that the Seattle Metropolitan Magazine has left Jessica Voelker get herself a business card that represent her as a Senior Editor. Her office is less than one block away from Fonte and she doesn’t even put a real picture of how the Brats were sold at Fonte? She complained about the service on a monthly basis when actually she holding gruges on the owner (which I agree is a jackass). I’m pretty sure that my comment is not going to be poster by censorship of the magazine.

Far from having a grudge against the owner of Fonte—whom I’ve met once—I was impressed by his measured and thoughtful response to the one post that I wrote criticizing the service there. He acknowledged the problem and said it was his mission to make it better. I’ve been back a few times and have noticed some real improvements.

My business card says Lifestyle Editor, not Senior Editor, and I acknowledge that nobody likes the raw sausage photo. I’ll make it my mission to chose better.
