Style Tag: Gene Juarez's James Todd
In which we meet a leading Bellevue hair stylist—the next contestant in our sartorial, citywide version of the backyard childhood pastime.
Would you believe it's that guy's 25th year at Gene Juarez Salon and Spas? Seattle area-native James Todd started in the laundry room in high school (I could make this stuff up but I wouldn't expect you to buy it) and is now the VP of Artistry for the regionally centered multi-store hair and beauty brand. And he cuts and shapes hair and makes people look gorgeous. And he's gracious on top of it: "The organization of talented artists and the women that visit me every day in the salon have afforded me a life I had only dreamed of and I am grateful," he told us. What a gem; here's more.

Your style in three words 1. Bespoke (Everything is custom or altered; even T-shirts. When you have a giant neck and a long torso like I do, you learn that quick!) 2. Uniform (Learning what works on your body can take a long time. I rarely stray from the formula.) 3. Peacock (Dressing up is fun and it's a bit like drag. Wardrobe is all persona; who you really are is the guy that looks you in the mirror right out of bed first thing in the morning.)
