MONDAY November 7

Perhaps inspired by all the distilleries opening in the neighborhood, Capitol Hill’s Poquitos is starting up a weekly event highlighting local distillers. Every Monday from 9pm to close, look for $5 specials on the boozy wares from the likes of Oola Distillery, Sound Spirits, Woodinville Whiskey, Pacific Distillery, and Captive Spirits.

THURSDAY November 10

Bittersweet Beer and Chocolate challenged eight of our local breweries to make an exclusive beer using a product from Theo Chocolate. If that’s not enough beer insanity for you, organizers have devised some beer and chocolate pairings as well. All the beer and chocolate madness happens at Fremont Brewing Company; advance tickets are $35.

FRIDAY November 11

Another intoxicating octet: Eight bartenders within the Tom Douglas empire will pair off with eight Washington distillers to make (you guessed it) eight different cocktails highlighting the good works of the state’s ever-growing craft spirits community. Sample each and every one from 5:30 to 7:30 at the Palace Ballroom. Tickets are $40 and include heavy appetizers.

SATURDAY November 12

Two Beers Brewing has a newly expanded facility, a dedicated tasting room, and a grand opening party on Saturday to celebrate all this growth. In case that’s not enough to justify an afternoon of beer drinking, it’s also the SoDo brewery’s fourth anniversary. The festivities run from 2 to 7 and include $4 pints and some limited edition beers, and Skillet will be on hand with some “beer-infused street food.” The grand opening is a public event; kids and dogs are welcome.

Elliott’s Oyster House is counting down to its epic annual Oyster New Year bash. Get ready for more than 30 varieties of oysters, shucked to order. Wash them down with beers from Pike Brewing and Maritime Pacific, and a host of wines from area wineries. Tickets are $95 ($125 for VIP) and slurping commences at 5. This tends to sell out, so get your tickets fast.
