September Restaurant News

13 Coins, Fancy.  The venerable all-hours restaurant will open a location in downtown Bellevue in December, with a Graham Baba–-designed space and a menu masterminded by the guys down the street at Pearl. 13coins.com

Bellevue in General
New restaurants get splashier (sleek, seasonal 99 Park, mega large and mega bedecked Tavern Hall), and the ramen scene grows ever more bountiful; these days 520 is a two-way street for diners.

Girin. The guys behind Momiji, Kushibar, and Umi Sake House are going big, meaty, and Korean with a new restaurant in Pioneer Square; former Tavolàta chef Brandon Kirksey will return from his current post at San Francisco’s Flour and Water, switching gears from delicate pastas to bibimbap, ssam, and steaks. girinseattle.com

The Restless Mind of Eric Banh. Now that Monsoon is twice as large, twice as pretty, and fully stocked with cocktails, the restaurateur can turn his attention to 7Beef, his take on an old-school steak house that will offer Vietnam’s traditional seven courses of beef on Jefferson Street just a few blocks from Ba Bar. monsoonrestaurants.com

La Bête’s New Identity. Capitol Hill’s offhandedly lovely restaurant is reborn this fall with a yet-undisclosed new name and a reimagining of both menu (more meat) and space (plusher seats). labeteseattle.com

Von Trapp’s New Identity. After a bit of legal back-and-forth with the descendants of The Sound of Music muse Maria von Trapp, the massive 12th Avenue beer hall will now be known as Rhein Haus. Maybe write that on your hand in case you pass out there during Oktoberfest. rheinhausseattle.com
