Seattle police deployed at Westlake Park on May Day 2018.

This year, protesters met at Judkins Park Tuesday afternoon for the 19th annual March for Immigrant and Workers Rights—led by El Comite and the May 1st Action Coalition—toward the federal courthouse, ending downtown to condemn Immigration and Customs Enforcement policies.

The protests were smaller this year compared to years past. Another group of Block the Juvi protesters opposing King County’s youth jail were in the University District, while others demonstrated in masks throughout the city.

The Seattle Police Department reported one arrest of a masked man who threw a rock at the Amazon spheres.

Over at Westlake Park, another group of right-wing men calling themselves the Proud Boys gathered with American and Trump flags.
