Bringing Seattle Up to Speed

Tonight, the Northwest Film Forum presents the first in a series of four Seattle premieres:  The entire oeuvre of Lisandro Alonso, a celebrated but strangely little-known Argentine filmmaker whose debut feature, La Libertad, premiered in the Un certain regard section of Cannes 2001 (the same section where Lynn Shelton showed Humpday this year).

La Libertad is the first of a trilogy and plays tonight through Saturday with the director in attendance.  Don’t miss this series, which is part of NWFF’s ongoing project of bringing Seattle up to speed with the rest of the film world.
