KC Council Member Hague Gets Another Opponent

By Erica C. Barnett April 6, 2011

King County Council member Jane Hague is shaping up to be the Jean Godden of the county council.

The Seattle Times' Politics Northwest blog reports that former Bellevue city council member Patsy Bonincontri will run against Hague, who is already being challenged by Seattle Port Commissioner John Creighton and attorney Richard Mitchell
, the former counsel to Gov. Chris Gregoire.

Both Hague and Creighton have been controversial.. In 2007, Hauge was charged with drunk driving and served six months’ probation. That same year, she acknowledged she had falsely claimed to have a college degree on her resume. In 2009, Creighton’s ex-girlfriend took out a restraining order against him, accusing him
of harassing and stalking her.

Bonincontri was appointed to finish the city council term vacated by Connie Marshall, who resigned in 2008. She was defeated by Kevin Wallace in 2010.

According to the Public Disclosure Commission, Hague has raised a little over $94,000 and has about $53,000 on hand. Mitchell has raised a little over $9,800, and Creighton has raised around $42,000, and has about $32,000 on hand. Bonincontri has not yet reported any contributions.
