Back before Burien was cool, Cory Smith had a very sweet and sweetly scented bath and beauty shop in that city’s olde town area. In December of this year, she moved her enterprise to Seattle’s olde town area; her Sweet Petula is nestled next door to Adam the Tailor between Pioneer Square and the International District. If you haven’t yet stepped inside the space (both a showroom and a working studio) and indulged in Smith’s vegan, natural wax aromatherapy candles, ginger blossom shea butter balm, and olive oil soaps, this Friday or Saturday would be a good time to do so.
On Oct 9 from 12 to 6 and Oct 10 from 12 to 5, Smith is celebrating the work of some of her favorite regional vendors. Nature-themed jewelry by My Little Sunshine, cashmere scarves crafted from upcycled sweaters by Haute Goat, Sweet Anthem’s apothecary perfumes and more will be highlighted in a handmade trunk show. (For a view on all this, simply slide through the picture show included in this post.)
The first 20 beauty- and scent-seekers in the door will receive a goodie bag. Based on Smith’s ultra-charming, European-feeling shop and her divine-quality products, I’m inclined to believe her when she says these goodie bags are indeed very good.
If you don’t make it this weekend, keep Sweet Petula in mind as the holidays approach. Even Smith’s website is highly efficient and shoppable, and, repeat after me, locally produced, artisan goods make the best gifts.

I really do miss Sweet Petula in Burien!!!
Sweet Petula has a wonderful selection. Her soaps and bath fizzes are heavenly and I can’t seem to say enough good things about her Good Dog pet soap either! Her local shop is an absolute pleasure to buy from. Make some time to stop in and savor the amazingly sweet scents and creams. Gosh, I love shopping local!
This sounds like a great place to shop. If you would like to check out other great beauty shop deals, check out our website at www.beautywizard1.com.
