Slideshow: Scenes from Fremont’s Solstice Parade

Rain? What rain?

By Seattle Met Staff June 20, 2011

I’ll admit it: I took one look at the perma-gray sky on Saturday and skipped the Fremont Fair and Solstice Parade in favor of seeing Super 8 on IMAX (must see it on IMAX, if only for the train explosion). Thankfully, photographer Lucas Anderson has a higher tolerance for rain in June than I do; check out his slideshow of shots from the parade: the annual quirkfest of naked (painted) bicyclists, Jabba the Hut floats, belly dancers, stilt walkers, clowns, cavemen, pirates, and free-spirited families. Plenty of fun to be had when the weather’s lousy.
