Beggars Can Be Choosers at Paramount Theatre

I like that seat — no, that seat!
This is what I’m talking about! I hate trying to book theater tickets online—on an 11-inch computer screen, every seat looks close to the stage—but now Paramount’s cutting us a break. This Sunday, for two hours only (10am-noon), you can stop by Paramount Theatre on Pine and "test" seats. Like, literally put your butt in one seat, check out the sight lines, and hop to another until you find the one you like. If there’s a lady with crazy flyaway frizz getting cozy in the seat in front of you, you’ll know ahead of time.
The catch: You can only select a seat if you buy season tickets for Paramount’s Broadway fare. Here’s what you’re paying for:
Hair, Nov 28-Dec 4
Rock of Ages, Feb 8-13
Billy Elliot, Mar 17-Apr 3
Mary Poppins, May 12-29
Season tickets cost anywhere from $112 for third mezzanine sides on a Tuesday, to $381 for main floor, dead center, on a Saturday night. Take 20 percent off that, and the cheap seats are actually a really great deal. I’d pay $100 just to see Billy Elliot (finally).
Give it a shot: Sunday, Sept 26, 10am-noon, Paramount Theatre. For more info, call 888-451-4042 or go to broadwayacrossamerica.com/seattle.
