Leavenworth: The Sleeping Lady

It might seem odd to celebrate the ultimate American holiday in a town that resembles 19th-century Germany, but Kingfisher Restaurant and Wine Bar at the Sleeping Lady Resort in Leavenworth serves a hell of a Turkey Day meal. This will be the 11th annual Thanksgiving feast in the resort's dining area, which has expansive views of Icicle Canyon through tall south- and west-facing windows. The meal is a buffet and includes wild mushroom puree and caramelized rainbow carrots alongside king salmon and an organic, free-range turkey with caramelized onions and cornbread stuffing. Walla Walla: Marcus Whitman Hotel

Who says turkey has to be the main attraction at Thanksgiving? The Harvest Buffet at the Marcus Whitman Hotel in Walla Walla has more than 30 total dish options, including nine different entrees. The menu this year includes tomato fondue, alder-smoked salmon, and parmesan-crusted eggplant stuffed with house-made ricotta. Winthrop: Sun Mountain Lodge

Making a November trip to Winthrop can be a tricky, snow-filled endeavor. But once you've made it to the Methow Valley, you can kick back and enjoy views of the North Cascades while eating Thanksgiving on the mountain. Like the timber interior and stone chimney, the meal is traditional: roasted beet salad with apples and roasted pistachios, lodge-made stuffing, and candied sweet potatoes. Main dishes include turkey, prime rib with a horse radish red onion marmalade, and a glazed ham with sweet pepper preserves and pineapple chutney. Reservations required, Nov 24, 2-8pm

Olympic Peninsula: Lake Crescent Lodge

The Olympic's lakefront Lake Crescent Lodge celebrates its centennial year with its traditional Thanksgiving Day Buffet, where staff regular pack leftover boxes for stuffed guests. Served in a dining room that sits between the the lake and the thick Olympic National Park forest, the spread includes oyster bloody Mary shooters, pear butter tartlets with gorgonzola and toasted walnuts, and venison porter chili; this being the Olympics, there's salmon alongside the turkey and prime rib. After the meal, stroll the Crescent Lake waterfront to see the waning crescent moon that will be visible over the holiday (clouds permitting). Reservations required, Nov 24, 11am-8pm 

Orcas Island: Doe Bay Resort

At Doe Bay Resort on Orcas Island, waves crash on the rocky shore just a stone's throw from the cafe. Whether you're sitting in a window-side booth or at the bar, you'll be served an exclusively island-grown, traditional pre-Thanksgiving meal of turkey, potatoes, and stuffing. A wine-pairing is available for $25 and the soundtrack is the resort's regular open-mic night. Post-dinner, on-site activities include yoga or a dip in the clothing-optional soaking tubs. $65, children $35, Nov 26, 3-6pm
