Potbelly Sandwich Shop Expands to First Hill

The purveyor of toasted sandwiches and cookie-punctuated milkshakes plans its fifth Seattle-area location.

 Good news for denizens of Virginia Mason and Swedish: the Chicago-based purveyor of toasted sandwiches is inching eastward (and uphill). Potbelly Sandwich Shop posted a Craigslist ad seeking staff for a new location at 1200 Madison, in the new Coppins Well complex. A rep says the opening date is still in flux, though according to the website, it should be sometime in early September.

In addition to being surrounded by medical personnel, the new shop is just a few blocks from Seattle University. Since first arriving at Fourth and Pike last summer, Potbelly has opened three other locations in Bellevue, Redmond, and Downtown on Third Street, inspiring abundant joy in some, haughty scorn in others.

According to the Craigslist post, this location will also do bike delivery.
