The Who Celebrates Its 50th Anniversary with KeyArena Concert

Plus, Miranda Lambert in Tacoma and a special screening of the Postal Service concert documentary.

A half century of howling about its generation, pioneering the rock opera, and generally being loud seems like a good reason to celebrate. The Who has continued to rock on in 2014 with its The Who Hits 50 anniversary tour. Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend won’t be bringing the tour stateside until next year (technically the band’s 51st), but the trek now includes a Seattle date. The Who will play KeyArena on September 27, 2015. While that’s almost eleven months away, tickets go on sale this Friday. So if you’re looking to sing along with “Baba O’Reily” or “Who Are You?”, plan ahead.

Tickets for The Who at KeyArena go on sale Friday, October 17 at 10am on Ticketmaster.com. General admission tickets are $36–$136. VIP package already on sale on Ticketmaster and range from $203–$803.

Earlier this year, Miranda Lambert’s fifth album, Platinum, debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. This would be noteworthy if it wasn’t so routine. In fact all of Lambert’s first five records have debuted at the top of the Billboard Country Albums charts, making her the only the only artist to ever accomplish that feat. The pop country superstar heads to the Tacoma Dome on February 13, 2015 with Justin Moore (who has five #1 country hits of his own) providing opening support.

Tickets for Miranda Lambert at Tacoma Dome go on sale on Friday, October 17 at 10am via Ticketmaster.com. Seats cost $37–$52.

The Postal Service didn’t become a real band until 2013, almost a decade after its inception. What started as Ben Gibbard and Jimmy Tamborello’s mailed musical correspondences, led to one beloved platinum selling album, Give Up. Ten years after its release, the duo (along with Jenny Lewis) came together for an anniversary tour that packed venues with adoring fans singing along to every word of “Such Great Heights” and the album’s other sincere and melancholy electronic indie songs. Now the The Postal Service offers up an account of that reunion tour with the new concert documentary, Everything Will Change. Before the DVD/Blu-ray goes on sale via Sub Pop on November 24, there will be ten early screenings of Everything Will Change across the country on November 14, including one at the local AMC Pacific Place 11. It’s a one-night-only chance to see the Postal Services’ fond farewell on the big screen.

Tickets for the screening of Everything Will Change are currently on sale for $13 at AMCtheatres.com. To purchase a seat, you must AMC Pacific Palace 11 as the location and move the calendar ahead to November 14.
