Slide Show: Inside PAX 2012

A photographic account of Seattle's largest gaming convention.

Every Labor Day weekend, the gaming industry sets its sights on Seattle. The Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) sets up shop in the Washington State Convention Center for three days, offering the largest fan-friendly gaming convention in the region. Founded in 2004 by Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik, the Washington-based duo behind the webcomic Penny Arcade, PAX has morphed from a modest Bellevue event to a bicostal video game-palooza (Seattle and Boston) where gamemakers show off their newest, previously unseen titles. It’s no wonder badges for PAX 2012 sold out in just over a week. In fact, PAX tickets are in such high demand, the expo will be adding a fourth day next year.

We were lucky enough to get inside this year—view the slideshow for a snapshot of PAX.

The video game media descends on Seattle for PAX. Here, G4 shoots a segment with some of PAX’s best cosplayers.
