Linda's Tavern throws a free music fest in its parking lot this Saturday. Plus: two other concerts for your weekend calendar.

What’s better than a boozy summer rock fest full of face-melting guitar shredding? How about a free boozy summer rock fest full of face-melting guitar shredding? Linda’s Tavern on Capitol Hill will host the third annual Linda’s Fest this Saturday and it boasts quite the raucous lineup.

Force of nature Reignwolf headlines the event. We’ve spilled plenty of words on how awesome he is, so don’t miss a chance to see him live in a smaller venue. The lineup also includes Walking Papers, the hard-rocking new project of Jeff Angell (Post Stardom Depression, vocals and guitar) and drummer Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees). While the group is primarily just Martin and Angell, they’ll be joined at Linda’s Fest by a few noteworthy Seattle pals who played on their upcoming debut record—namely Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan and Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready. The night will also feature sets by Nightmare Fortress, Grave Babies, and Trash Fire. It’ll be a good ol’ down and dirty time.

Linda’s Fest
Aug 18, 6–10pm, Linda’s Tavern, free

Also this weekend:

If the rocking at Linda’s Fest seems a bit too intimate, perhaps a Kiss and Mötley Crüe coheadlining gig would suffice. Their humbly named “The Tour” rolls into Auburn’s White River Amphitheatre on Saturday. Time to bust out the white-and-black makeup and grab a bottle of Jack.

Kiss and Mötley Crüe
Aug 18 at 7, White River Amphitheatre, $30–$200

If you’d rather spend the weekend with some much more mellow music, Norah Jones brings her Grammy-winning sound to Marymoor Park on Saturday. It’ll be a night of piano pop and jazz under the stars far removed from the noisy choas of Linda’s Tavern or White River Amphitheatre.

Norah Jones
Aug 18 at 7, Marymoor Park, $44–$64
