Sheehan, an eight-year veteran at Denver’s Westword, is the best-selling author of Cooking Dirty: A Story of Life, Sex, Love, and Death in the Kitchen and a James Beard winner for criticism.
He wrote to Kauffman: "Other than Denver, there are only two or three other cities in the country where the food is interesting enough and the scene vital enough to tempt me into uprooting my entire life just for a chance at getting a taste.
