Music Director Ludovic Morlot and the Seattle Symphony opened the 2016–2017 season with a spectacular concert featuring the captivating mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato. The Opening Night Gala honored philanthropists William Gates Sr. and Mimi Gardner Gates and was dedicated to giving voice to the community, raising over $920,000 in support of the Symphony’s community and education programs. The Symphony thanks this year’s event committee, attendees, sponsors and donors for helping make the event an inspiring start to the new season.
