The Seattle Mariners' current logo stinks. The baseball as a compass is so beyond boring. But it wasn't always this way. The team's logo from 1981–86 is a work of art: a thick blue M trident outlined in yellow encased in a blue star. It's magnificent, and if there was any justice in the world, it would be the team's full time logo. Alas, we live in an imperfect reality. But for one night, the Mariners will celebrate true beauty. Saturday's matchup against the St. Louis Cardinals is Turn Back the Clock night, and the first 20,000 fans will receive a cap adorned with the glorious '80s trident.
