Sports fans are struggling.

Right now, sports fans are miserable. While some soccer leagues around the world have continued play since the novel coronavirus’s outbreak, all American sports teams are on hiatus until we sufficiently flatten the curve. This break has introduced the world to marble racing and Roomba curling and even made Seattleites, dare I say it, long for Mariners games.

But sports diehards don’t have to wait for leagues to return to find some athletic entertainment. The internet has preserved a slew of classic games for our viewing pleasure, many of which can be found on YouTube. The Sounders don’t have much full-game representation on the platform (unless you want a second helping of this 2014 friendly against Tottenham), but other local teams do. We scoured YouTube for a handful of rewatchable Seattle games so you don’t have to.

New York Yankees vs. Mariners, 1995 ALDS, Game 5. Told you we deep-dived. The Mariners’ first postseason appearance led to a matchup with the league’s most successful franchise, and for most of the series’s final game, it looked like the Bronx Bombers were set to triumph. An eighth-inning comeback would change that. Come to see Ken Griffey Jr., Randy Johnson, and Edgar Martinez all play starring roles in this walk-off Mariners win; stay for a raucous Kingdome celebration.

Storm vs, Washington Mystics, 2018 WNBA Finals, Game 3. The deciding contest ended with the Storm’s third championship. Watch Breanna Stewart drop 30, then think about how many she’s going to put up when (positive thoughts, everyone) the Storm’s 2020 season kicks off.

Utah Jazz vs. SuperSonics, 1996 Western Conference Finals, Game 7. With March Madness canceled, we’re giving hoops fans some bonus basketball action. Yes, the Sonics have sadly left us, but the memory of this classic 90-86 victory at KeyArena that sent the Sonics to their last NBA Finals lives on. Shawn Kemp, Gary Payton, George Karl, Detlef Schrempf—couple this with a grunge playlist and your quarantine will feel distinctly '90s.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Seahawks, 2013 NFC Championship Game. NFL free agency has provided sports fans with a bit of entertainment in recent days, but the league's offseason signings pale in comparison to its on-the-field action. This Seahawks playoff win over a divisional rival never gets old, especially Richard Sherman's famous tip to Malcolm Smith for the game-sealing interception.

Seahawks vs. Denver Broncos, Super Bowl XLVIII. You've had to deal with enough anxiety over the past few weeks. Revel in the Seahawks' beatdown of Peyton Manning's Broncos. It's nice knowing something's going to end well.
