Three hundred attended the Sixth Annual Gifts from the Earth gala, sponsored by the South Seattle Community College Foundation. The evening raised $150,000 to support scholarships and college programs, and featured food prepared by some many of Seattle’s finest chefs.

The launch party for Hotel 1000’s month-long celebration 12 Days of Comfort, Joy and Cheer took place December 1, 2009. The beneficiary of all 12 Days events was Art With Heart, which provides youth in crisis with therapeutic books encouraging self-expression. Lily Jang, co-anchor for Q13 FOX News This Morning, emceed the party along with Shawn Stewart, midday host and music director for 103.7 The Mountain.

The black-tie Hutch Holiday Gala took place Dec. 5 at the Seattle Sheraton Hotel. The evening raised $9.8 million for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.

For their "Off the Wall" opera event, Neodandi House of Couture paid tribute to Michael Jackson’s life and style with an evening of music, dancing, and fashion. A live auction of three original Neodandi designs went toward the Seattle Children’s Hospital.
