Mighty-O Donuts
Yes, coffee and doughnuts are surely to be had at this bakeshop's fourth location, arriving in the Denny Regrade at 1812 Boren Avenue, but you'll also find, kombucha, beer, wine, and cider plus easy grab-and-go salads and sandwiches, too.

Tropicos Breeze
Replacing Maria Hines' erstwhile Young American Ale House, which was Golden Beetle before that, is this Latin American restaurant, reports Eater Seattle. Tropicos Breeze opened on September 18 with Salvadoran sandwiches, pupusas, and margaritas in tow.

Scott Emerick is now helming the kitchen at this Belltown cafe and bar, where he continues the restaurant's all-things-local ethos. Emerick is hot off his tenure as executive chef at D.C.'s Nora Restaurant, but you might recognize him from his previous post at Eric and Sophie Banh's Seven Beef or his first bistro, Cremant, in Madrona.

Michael Mina's French eatery in Seattle has a new executive chef: Thomas Griese, who is a Mina restaurant alum and has graced such kitchens as Bouchon Las Vegas, the French Laundry, Le Cirque, and Andre's.

Coming Soon

Cloud Nine Creamery
Landing in Southcenter right next door to Din Tai Fung, this ice cream shop's scoops of creamy treats are frozen by, get this, liquid nitrogen. Its dig will be as whimsical as its dessert offerings.

Expansion Mode

Chávez
For sophisticated-and-sharp cocktails paired with equally well done northern Mexican cuisine, one will no longer need venture to Capitol Hill. Chavez is expanding to Downtown, 2001 Western Avenue, suite 105, says Eater Seattle.

Mercato Stellina
Joining Chavez, right next door in fact (suite 110), will be this Bellevue staple for Italian fare. But here, Mercato Stellina's menu will add handmade pastas—observe the process through a forthcoming window into the kitchen.
