Pipe and Row and its many cool-girl staples.

Fremont, the self-proclaimed center of the known universe, is certainly the center of some out-of-this-world shopping. From contemporary staples for the trendy Seattleite to vintage wares of bygone eras to geek chic, find what you need (or perhaps what you didn't know you needed) in this pocket of the Milky Way.

Pipe and Row

Minimalism meets leisurely chic at this boutique nestled along the neighborhood's retail strip brings together modern styles from over 70 different designers hailing from Australia, LA, Denmark, and of course Seattle, too. Seattle-native Kayla Boehme opened the brick-and-mortar in June 2014, and has since launched a Pipe and Row Gives Back program donating to local nonprofits, including Mary’s Place. Whether you’re shopping for the perfect black tee, a statement raincoat, or a trendy pair of shades, the quality is as evident as the store’s cool-girl vibe.

Fremont Vintage Mall

Down a short staircase awaits a trove of vintage goods. Mid–century modern chairs, Levis shearling denim jackets that probably once belonged to your dad, bins of funky (in a good, musical way) records. You can—and should—spend hours in this subterranean treasure trove, a place that, yes, has its fair share of dust, but in the most charming way.

Les Amis

Becky Buford opened her boutique in 1996 amongst the amethyst-hued wisteria trees that she brought her own home. Some 21 years later Buford is still able to maintain a cozy, inviting space full of goods that span the globe, including things locally made in the Emerald City. From modern silhouettes to denim looks by Ulla Johnson to Rachel Comey must-haves, it's long been a Fremont go-to and will likely remain so for, we hope, another two decades.

Show Pony

Owner Stephanie Hara’s eco-friendly den houses vintage-inspired tees, unique accessories, and local designers like Prairie Underground, Daly Bird, and Frock Shop. Beyond sweet threads, Show Pony’s mascot pup, Pushkin, is there to give you plenty of snuggles and shopping advice.

Liten

Sibling shop to owner Becky Buford's Les Amis, Liten is a sparkling dreamland brimming with delicate jewelry of natural stones and precious metals. Buford elegant touch is apparent here, where gifts abound, like beautifully crafted ceramics, tea towels from Japan, and leather goods from Brooklyn.

Outsider Comics and Geek Boutique

By now, it's fairly safe to say that comic books, heroes in capes, and quirky fan t-shirts are as ubiquitous as, oh, Game of Thrones spoilers and Spiderman reboots. On Fremont's buzzy stretch of bars, this shop can fill your geeky needs, be it tabletop games, graphic novels, cosplay materials, or just a pair of simultaneously cute and snarky socks.
