After the first couple summer music festival lineups left us (to be kind) less than enthused, Capitol Hill Block Party's 2017 slate feels like a gift from above. The three-day fest (July 21–23) boasts an intriguing cross-section of headliners: Run the Jewels (aka "the only rap duo that matters"), noted EDM party-starter Diplo, and Lord Huron for the folky indie rock sect. But the depth of the initially announced lineup runs deeper than the top line. There's also acclaimed heartbreak crooner Angel Olsen, funky bass master Thundercat, Cloud Nothings' wall of guitar rock noise, hip-hop wild man Danny Brown, indie rock mainstay Wolf Parade, Lizzo's dope rhymes, the explosive musical emotions of Seattle's own Perfume Genius, and more. This... this is a good festival lineup.
Tickets for Capitol Hill Block Party are on sale now at Ticketfly.com. Single day tickets cost $60. Three-day festival passes range from $135–$300.
