Sisters and Brothers Hosts DJ Benefit for ReWA
This Georgetown hot chicken haven will have music spinning from Light in the Attic Records while raising funds for Refugee Women’s Alliance, a local nonprofit. A dollar from each beer will go towards ReWA’s youth program, plus the local record label will match a portion of the night’s donations to double-down on the good-doing.

Washington Beer Open House
It’s back: The annual brew-filled walkabout, wherein over 130 breweries statewide swing their taproom doors wide open from noon to 5. Some breweries will have rare tastings or brewery tours, others may have discounts or much-needed snacks, but all will have their knowledgable craft brewers on deck, who’d likely love to get nerdy about beer with you.

Charles Smith Wines Jet City Meatball Competition
Meatballs made by chefs from some of Seattle’s top restaurants and wine flowing from one of Seattle’s biggest vintners. That’s what you can expect this Saturday in Georgetown, where the second annual meatball throwdown will happen, pitting chefs from the likes of Barolo, Cantinetta, La Spiga, and Vendemmia against each other for the coveted meatball champ title, plus $5,000 will go to the charity of their choice. After a meatball verdict has been given, chow down on a lasagna prepared by chef Zoi Antonitsas of the forthcoming Jarr and Co. Tickets $30 to $35, and doors open at noon.

Brouwer’s 15th Annual Hard Liver Barleywine Festival
At this 15th annual festival—an event older than Brouwer’s Cafe itself—this Fremont pub is pouring barleywines all weekend. You can bet most if not all of the 57 draft lines at Brouwer’s will be dispensing the strong ale; all of which will be available in 3-, 6-, and 12-ounce sizes. Doors are open at an appropriate 11am on Saturday as well as Sunday, for those looking to harden their liver one swill of barleywine at a time.

Sun, Feb 26
Backyard Party at Mean Sandwich
Ballard’s latest steward of sandwiches is throwing the meanest party on the block. It entails $5 snacks, which if their rotating menu is any indication, could mean anything from buffalo chicken nibblers to fried potato skins. There will also be music and Rainier on tap—keg stand at your own risk.

Mon, Feb 27
Lundi Gras at Ciudad Grill
We all know about Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday, but this Monday, Ciudad is taking on this particularly New Orleans–style Lundi Gras celebration in the form of a southern-inspired three-course meal by chefs Aaron Willis and guest chef Patrick Dours of Fat’s Chicken and Waffles, who will be creating dishes from his days in the Big Easy. On the menu: smoked Dungeness crab bisque, shrimp three ways with dirty rice, plus some bourbon-based cocktails of course. Doors open at 7 and tickets are $50 per person.
