Dough Zone Dumpling House
An Eastside favorite has opened its first Seattle location in the International District, on the corner of Fifth Avenue South and South King Street. Dough Zone offers the same menu as its other locations, but in a polished, minimalist space with plenty of natural light.
Texas barbecue comes to Maple Leaf from the duo of Chuck Shin, of Chuck’s Hop Shop, and Jason Jacobs. Designed after the mostly sauceless style of Central Texas, Barbecue Smith's menu features a handful of items smoked over hickory and applewood, with—no surprise—a lot of beer selections.
Blue Moon Burgers SLU
The Seattle burger joint has closed its location in South Lake Union, according to Lake Union Beat. Despite previous controversy over reports of racism, a flyer in the window states the closure is due to an expired lease.
Fu Man Dumpling House
The Seattle Times reports that Fu Man Dumpling House has closed after 12 years in Bitter Lake. The owners will be spending time with their family in Taiwan, but will be selling their garlic sauce on their website and may return in the future to open a new restaurant.
Tempero do Brasil
Eater Seattle reports that this Brazilian eatery off the Ave will close at the end of the month after 18 years as a U District favorite. Fans have until the 28th of October to grab their last feijoada while it’s still hot. In the meantime, Tempero do Brasil advises that we stay tuned for their next venture. Obrigado por tudo, Tempero.
