Joel Watanabe at Dahlia Lounge
Tom Douglas Restaurants' I-5 Series will bring visiting chefs and cookbook authors from up and down the corridor to the Dahlia Lounge. First is chef Joel Watanabe of Bao Bei in Vancouver, who will be serving up a family-style meal of pork and prawn wontons, octopus salad, and steamed fresh fish in pistou broth. Tickets are available online for $75.

SATURDAY, May 3
The End Taco Truck Challenge
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo (Tres de Mayo?) at Volunteer Park following the Fiesta 5k Ole! Fun Run. There will be a $5 beer and margarita garden and 25 food trucks serving up taco-themed delights in the hope of becoming Taco Truck Champions. Trucks will start serving food at 11:00, but be sure to stick around until 2:00, when local band Tacocat will play a set (no word on whether they'll be bringing a few pints of their new Bluebird Microcreamery ice cream with them).
Mobile Food Rodeo
The mega-gathering of food trucks is back, and has a taco truck event of its own on Saturday. The event spans two days: On Saturday trucks are parked in the International District; on Sunday you'll find them in Fremont.

Sunday Feast at Tavolàta
Ethan Stowell eldest spot in Belltown is having another one of its monthly Sunday Feasts, and this month it's all about the pork: pancetta and snap pea salad and gnocchi with pork cheeks will only be a precursor to the pièce de résistance: a whole roasted suckling pig. SPORT Brewmaster Dinner
The first in a series of beer dinners by brewmaster Drew Cluley will showcase Washington State's oldest brewpub, Big Time Brewery in the U District. Be sure to try triple gold medal winner Prime Time Pale Ale, which contains Yakima Chinook and Mt. Hood hops.
