SLU: dreams of sushi. Photo via kev-shine's Flickr.

Lunch is the most important meal of the day in this part of town, and this week Amazonians and Nordstrom-ites have a new option. Urban Sushi Kitchen, at 600 Stewart, is serving noodle soups, rice bowls, and, yes—sushi. There's a large menu of maki and specially concocted house rolls.

The restaurant is owned and operated by a husband and wife team, Stephanie and Sean Hyun. They open the doors at 7:30am, selling bagel and croissant breakfast sandwiches with ham and organic eggs, then switch over to chirashi and udon and salmon nigiri later in the day.

Stephanie says that the couple focuses on healthy and organic ingredients, and that the beef bulgogi don, and kimchi and beef noodle soup have been popular orders thus far—no surprise given the recent weather. Look for the website to go live in the next week or so with the full menu.
