The owners of the former Dome Burger, an affable hole in the wall that operated under various ownership for 27 years at 111 Occidental Ave S, will open a new joint called BRGR Bar in the space this week after a major remodel and cleanup. Burgers are still the main draw, but with a slightly upgraded ingredient list befitting the neighborhood’s transition.
The menu still has classic burgers, as well as some creations that reflect the chef’s and owner’s Korean heritage. A rep for the restaurant noted that the Gangnam Burger—made with marinated kalbi beef—is named for the upscale district in Seoul by the same name, not the Psy song. You can also order rice bowls, a spicy Korean-style pork in both standalone and slider form, and a housemade vegetarian patty.
BRGR Bar will be open for lunch and dinner; the daily 3-6pm happy hour menu includes some sliders and tacos (prawn or kalbi beef). Doors open this Thursday March 13, at 10:30am; later this week you'll be able to track the restaurant on its fledgling Facebook page and the Dome Burger website.
